Collektor is a macOS application developed for the personal use of Apple device collectors. The application is primarily designed to function offline, and it does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. All information entered — including device records, photos, and user profile data — is stored locally on the user’s Mac.

The built-in map view (powered by MapKit) may temporarily use an internet connection to load map tiles; however, no location data is collected, stored, or transmitted. Map pins are based solely on text input provided manually by the user (e.g., "eBay, London" in the "Where I bought it" field).
Collektor does not use third-party APIs or cloud services and does not connect to any external servers.

Collektor respects your privacy to the fullest extent. The application:

- does not include analytics or tracking tools,
- does not transmit data to any third parties,
- and does not collect background statistics.

All information remains fully private and under the user’s control, stored exclusively on their device.

This application is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. The developer assumes no responsibility for:

- data loss,
- inaccurate or incomplete information,
- or any direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of the app.

Some device specifications may be auto-filled from an internal reference database. These values are for informational purposes only and may not reflect the original factory configuration.
The user is solely responsible for verifying and editing the data as needed.

Model information, suggestions, and specifications provided by the app are based on internal databases and manually collected data. While the developer strives to maintain accuracy, no guarantee is made as to the correctness or completeness of this information.
Users are encouraged to verify all data before relying on it.

Backup and Data Handling ... .. .

Collektor provides tools to create and restore full backups of the local database. Users are free to choose where the backup files are saved — this may be a local folder, external drive, or a cloud location of their own choosing.

All backup operations are user-initiated — no automatic syncing is performed.

The app does not interact with any cloud services or perform background transfers.

Backup and restore functionality is intended to assist in cases of data loss or when reverting to a previous version of the collection.
