The "beating. - Studio" macOS app is built for fast, local audio analysis with no cloud dependency. All values — BPM, Key, LUFS, and True Peak — are computed instantly on your device, making it ideal for track prep, cue point setting, and creative planning. While not intended to replace professional mastering tools, the focus is on musically relevant insights and live usability: a smart DJ utility for fast decisions and a smooth desktop workflow.
All top bar icons act as toggles for their respective panels. Clicking an icon opens the corresponding view (e.g. Infinity, Playlist, Info), and clicking the same icon again closes it. This applies to all overlay menus – there is no separate "close" button. Only one overlay view can be active at a time.

1. Import & Automatic Analysis (single file or entire folder)
The macOS version supports importing either:
– a single audio file, or
– an entire folder of files at once
All imported tracks are automatically copied into the Analyzed folder and processed one by one.
Each track is analyzed for:
- BPM
- Key
- LUFS
- True Peak
- and a detailed waveform visualization with cue point markers
Once analyzed, tracks appear in the PlaylistView for editing, cueing, and exporting.

2. Instant Visualization – Vinyl Mode & Cue Preview
After analysis, the track is instantly loaded into the main screen. You’ll see:
– the waveform
– BPM, Key, LUFS, and True Peak
– cue points
– and a dynamic, rotating vinyl animation in the background
No manual activation required – the entire visual and playback layer appears seamlessly after analysis.

3. Playlist – Managing analyzed content, exporting sets
The PlaylistView displays all previously analyzed tracks with mini waveforms, metadata, and cue markers.
Each track includes:
- Lock – prevents edits and deletion
- Edit – reloads the track into the main screen
- Delete – only available if unlocked
- S button – marks the track as part of an exportable Set
Export options at the top of the Playlist:
Export to any folder on your system
Export to USB drive – copies the full or filtered playlist to a selected USB device
Tracks are organized into BPM-based folders automatically on export.
If Set Mode is active in the header, only tracks marked with S will be exported.
Multiple sets can be created and will be auto-numbered (Set 1, Set 2, etc.).
iOS compatibility – playlist import
You can import playlists originally created in the iOS version of Beating, including all previously saved cue points. This makes it easy to continue preparing, editing or mixing your mobile tracks on the desktop.
